Introduction to Experimental and Creative Gelliplate Printmaking with Fabric.

Have fun using a gelliplate to create your own fabrics using a range of mediums and different approaches. Gelliplate monoprinting is a fun, experimental and intriguing way to create unique, textural and colourful patterns and art. Use everyday items (e.g. string) and natural objects (e.g. leaves) to create textured prints. You will experiment with using stencils, layering your prints and creating your own pattern blocks to use with the gelliplate. The course will guide you on how to use your gelliplate to print on a range of fabrics and interfacing to produce textile art or patchwork for quilting. You will also look at ways to create your own repeating patterns.
The course will be experimental and fun, with help and advice given to enable you to get the most out of the day. Fabrics can be heat-set and are then ready for your own quilting, sewing, art or embroidery. Alternatively, you can photograph your prints and develop them further digitally.
Basic materials, tools, ink and paper will be provided. Additional materials may be available to buy from the tutor or the art shop next door. We limit our course numbers to 6 - in order for you to get the most from our tutors and the facilities.

This course is suitable for all levels. Please wear old clothes and bring an apron.

Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of the full cost of the course. If full payment is not made, you will not be allowed to start the course. We reserve the right to cancel the course at a weeks notice if there are less than 4 participants booked.

We will not be liable for any childcare, travel or accommodation fees lost due to cancellation by us.
You will need to bring your own lunch as there are no facilities nearby. Please bring an apron, some basic kit like pencils, pens, your tutor should get in touch before the start of your course to let you know if there is anything specific you need to bring.

Cancellation Policy:
The sum of £50, will be lost If you cancel at short notice (less than 2 weeks before the course start). If your place cannot be filled, no monies will be returned.
