Collagraph & Tetrapak Printing Weekend Workshop with Christine Felce
This 2 day course will bring together a range of print processes that bring out a more painterly approach to printmaking. You will be creating prints from packaging materials and a specialist cardboard called enviromount board.
This process is often referred to as Collagraph meaning to create prints in a similar way to making a collage.
The course will start with you creating several printing plates using the tetra packs [nut milk cartons] and cardboard.
The printing plates often have textural quality because of the collaging of different materials such as carborundum and wallpapers. You will be using knives etching tools and scissors to cut and make marks on your plates.
These plates will become a basis for you to experiment with colour layering. The course will cover viscosity inking and monoprinting. You will be using the printing presses to print your work in different ways to bring out the variety of depths within your plates
The course is suitable for beginners and printmakers who want to extend there process.
You will come away with some beautiful individual textural prints with lost of opportunity to play with the techniques.
All materials included.
We limit our course numbers to 6 - in order for you to get the most from our tutors and the facilities.
All the inks are water washable, but will satin your clothes so do be prepared with apron or old clothes
