Copper Plate Etching 6 week evening course with Wendy Rhodes

Learn a range of essential etching of techniques that will get you started on this enthralling process.
You will explore hard and soft grounds, line and tone, open bite and aquatint.

Absolute beginners will be guided through every step of the process, whilst those who have experience will be encouraged work more exploratively. Once you are familiar with the essentials you will be able to work on your own projects at your own pace, with full support, to get the results that you want.
This course welcomes all levels, from absolute beginners to those who really want to improve their technical expertise.

This course will provide each participant with 2 small pieces of copper to learn the techniques. Additional copper for developing the images will be available for purchase from the course tutor.
Prices vary between £6.30 (approx 10x15cm) - £12.80 (15x25cm) depending on the size of plate you wish to work on.
Extra printing paper will also be available to purchase from the course tutor at £5.90 per sheet (6 prints per sheet)
Lists of printmaking suppliers will also be provided at the beginning of the course.

Terms and Conditions:
Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of the full cost of the course. We reserve the right to cancel the course at a weeks notice if there are less than 4 participants booked.

We will not be liable for any childcare, travel or accommodation fees lost due to cancellation by us.

Cancellation Policy:
The sum of £50, will be lost If you cancel at short notice (less than 2 weeks before the course start). If your place cannot be filled, no monies will be returned. COVID-19 Precautions

Students may be asked to wear masks and gloves.
Presses and shared equipment (keeping this to a minimum) are wiped after each session with antibacterial cleaner.
Extractor fans will be switched on during courses.
Students on courses run in the downstairs studio will have access to both the upstairs and downstairs toilets.
Students will need to bring refreshments with them.
