Woodcut 6 week evening course

This course will teach you how to produce multi layered woodcuts. You will learn all aspects of the process from transferring your image to using the press. We’ll learn a registration technique that allows you to print both with and without a press. We will concentrate on the reduction woodcut technique, allowing you to print a small edition of prints from a single wood block. The reduction technique is also known as the suicide technique as you only get one chance to print your edition, it can be scary but encourages a spontaneous and fun approach.

The process allows you to be as simple or complex with your imagery as you like making it suitable for beginners or those looking to advance their skills. Additional materials may be available to buy from the tutor or the art shop next door. We limit our course numbers to 6 - in order for you to get the most from our tutors and the facilities.

Terms and Conditions:

Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of the full cost of the course. We reserve the right to cancel the course at a weeks notice if there are less than 4 participants booked.

Cancellation Policy:

The sum of £50, will be lost If you cancel at short notice (less than 2 weeks before the course start). If your place cannot be filled, no monies will be returned.
